The team claimed that the non-fungible token in question will never be sent to users’ wallets, and that eligible claimants can only do so through Shiba Inu’s official website.

“Do not click on shared, shortened or copied links. Scammers often create fake websites that look identical to the real ones to steal money. Always type the official address directly into your browser and verify that you are on the correct domain before linking your wallet. Never share your private keys or seed phrase with anyone,” the warning reads.

One person who commented on the post was LUCIE, Shibarium’s pseudonymous marketing strategist. She urged the SHIB Army must remain vigilant and warn that fake ads mimicking Uniswap have already caused significant user losses. They added that crypto fraud and exploitation siphoned off around $370 million in January alone.

The incident severely disrupted the protocol’s activity, with the number of daily transactions dropping from millions to just a few hundred. Some analysts have repeatedly argued in recent months that the Shiba Inu price rebound could depend heavily on the revival of Shibarium.

After the attack, the Shiba Inu team created SOU (“Shib Owes You”) NFTs to compensate users for their losses. Each non-fungible token represents a verified claim registered on Ethereum showing the amount owed and the amount already repaid.
