After the club’s perfect league run finally came to an end, the Portuguese star delivered an encouraging message to his teammates ahead of 2026.
Al Nassr traveled to Al Ettifaq on matchday 12 of the 2025-2026 SPL season after winning their first ten matches and aiming to extend the streak. Despite Ronaldo got a goal with his back (which deflected Joao Felix’s shot)the visitors were held to a 2–2 draw as Georginio Wijnaldum scored twice, including an equalizer in the 80th minute.
As the winning streak ended, Al Nassr remain in a strong position in the title race, even with more than half the season still to play. Reflecting on the progress made in the second half of 2025, Ronaldo took to social media to rally his teammates, writing:We are on the right track and we know what we have to do in 2026!“
Al Nassr produced the best start in SPL history by winning their first ten matchesdemonstrating both productive scoring and defensive stability. The draw slowed their momentum, but they are still top of the table with 31 points from eleven games, three points ahead of Al Taawoun in second place, with Al Hilal on 26 points and yet to play matchday 12.
Ronaldo will return to action for Al Nassr on January 2. ushering in the 2026 portion of the campaign. The Saudi side will be visiting Al Ahly at King Abdullah Sports City, where the SPL was firmly entrenched as the club’s main target heading into the new year.

Al Nassr lags behind Al Hilal’s record
Al Nassr’s ten-match winning streak to open the season put Ronaldo’s side in the history books and put them within reach of one of Al Hilal’s most dominant league records. That run came to a halt on Tuesday, leaving the target intact for the foreseeable future.
Al Hilal holds the SPL record for most consecutive league wins with 24 consecutive winsa feat achieved during the 2023-2024 season. Al Nassr reached tenth place, and with the competition stretching to matchday 34, the record is likely to remain untouched until at least next season.
