A devastating event in Coronation Street brings several of the male characters together to open about mental health in a coming episode, after Dev Alahan (Jimmi Harkishin) gets news about his daughter Asha (Tanisha Gorey).
Asha has gone through unrest after experiencing a number of horrible events while working as a paramedic. A difficult shift culminated in racially abused and attacked by a woman named Naomi (Melissa Batchelor). This caused panic attacks for Asha, which was very withdrawn.
In a coming episode it’s all too much for her and she beats a bottle of wine back before she goes out.
She is later found by Theo (James Cartwright) and Amy (Elle Mulvaney) and an ambulance. By the time DEV comes to his daughter, the paramedics wonder if she has also used drugs in addition to the alcohol – and Bernie (Jane Hazlegrove) is currently suggesting DEV that Asha has deliberately tried to end her life.

In the aftermath there is later a bleak mood in the robbers. Tim Metcalfe (Joe Duttine) is encouraged by Sally (Sally Dynevor) to go to the pub with his friends, despite the fact that it is their birthday.
With Kevin (Michael Le Vell) who tries to come with the end of his marriage to Abi (Sally Carman), Sally hopes that her current husband might encourage her ex-husband a bit.
Also in the pub is Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) and Tyrone Dobbs (Alan Halsall). Tyrone also goes through a difficult time, after he was recently seriously injured in a hit-and-run. He currently uses a wheelchair and is confronted with a long, difficult rehabilitation and an uncertain future.

But all their thoughts are at Dev and keep Wake in the hospital with his daughter. The idea that such a smart young woman, who is greatly respected for doing such a responsible work as a paramedic, should consider ending her own life is a sobering thought.
The men present are open about their own struggles. Each of them admits that he is dealing with his own problems by bottling them, but they all agree that it is much healthier to share their worries with each other.
Of course DEV is not present at this discussion, because his priority is at ASHA. However, he is certainly needed for support because he is struggling with his emotions. He tells Bernie that some of his is angry with Asha because he is willing to bring her family through as much pain as she lost her.
“I think he offers himself more than anyone, and it comes out because we always do that, right?” Jimmi Harkishin told us.

‘We only show our true emotions to the people closest to us, because it is simply easier to do it that way. Dev goes and gets all his frustrations, his anger, his self -doubt and reproaches with Bernie.
“But when he goes back to the hospital, he is very, very gentle with his daughter, caring and apologetic, and then he walks outside, and then he is angry and he cries, and then he goes back to the hospital, and his daughter never sees that. There is a huge mask that just keeps sliding as soon as he leaves her.
‘I think you do that as a father, if something goes wrong with your children, there is a huge part of you as a father who thinks: “Was it to me? Was it something I could or should have done? ” ‘
