Dallas Mavericks Rookie Phenom Cooper Flagg, the number 1 general choice of the NBA Draft 2025, landed on the cover of another edition of SLAM Magazine.

For the second time, the 6-foot-9 attacker appears on the cover of the renowned Sports Magazine, with a basketball with the daring caption, “What is busy?”

According to Cody Taylor Van Yahoo Sports, the latest episode, also has a specialized “Orange Metal” edition, only made available for a limited sales window of 48 hours.

Flagg, who became 19 in December 19, first appeared on the cover in December 2023 after he had committed to Duke University and spent his only lecture season there, led the Blue Devils to a last four performance.

The Mavericks secured Flagg via the NBA lottery from 2025 months after General Manger Nico Harrison shocked the NBA community by trading superstar Luka Doncic before the Handelsdeadline of February.

Flagg won several NCAA Awards at Duke

In the past ranked as a five -star recruit and the best -ranked prospect in the 2024 class, the resident of Newport, Maine, the NBA comes in as one of the most hyped prospects since LeBron James.

In 37 games (all starts) at Duke in his first-year season 2024-25, on average 19.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 1.4 steals, 1.4 blocks and 30.7 minutes per match while he shot 48.1% and 38.5% of deep.

FLAGG received various prizes in the NCAA, including Acc Player of the Year and Freshman of the Year Honors. He also won the Wooden and Naismith Awards for Player of the Year, and received a consensus first team All-American selection.

“For me it is just about loving to win and embrace the competition. I have always wanted to win more than anything. It all comes on,” Flagg said in an interview with the magazine.

Flagg and the Mavericks opens their 2025-26 season against fellow-smokie Dylan Harper and the San Antonio Spurs in an early confrontation between the top two choices in this year’s concept.

The MAVS chose to close Flagg in the NBA Summer League after the Rookie star scored 31 points in a match of 12 July against Harper and the Spurs.

Flagg shot 10-from-21 in a bounce-back version of his Summer League debut against the Los Angeles Lakers on July 10, when he only scored 10 points on 5-of-21 shooting.

“I think it’s a new environment, a new setting,” Flagg then said after the loss of 76-69 of Dallas to San Antonio. “They want to see me aggressively and do things like that.

“I think I did a lot better today, just got the line, was polluted, and that helped me to feel comfortable and settled early. I still missed some free throws. I know my mother was probably not very happy with that.”

Flagg is looking forward to playing next to NBA veterans

Mavericks Summer League coach Josh Broghamer then said that Flagg “just keeps making the right plays” and the former blue devil praised for his work “Off The Ball” against the Spurs.

“It is always about getting better everywhere. There is so much what you can work on and get better. I just try to get better everywhere,” Flagg added during his interview with SLAM Magazine.

“I am excited to be surrounded by many older, experienced guys who have been successful at the highest level,” he said about playing alongside his new mavs teammates.

“It will be very cool to learn from them, to be a sponge and to record it all to learn a lot.”
