Can Conor McGregor and Mike Perry finally be on a collision course?
It is no secret that McGregor has invested its time in promoting BKFC. The ‘notorious’ has had his part of the interactions with Perry, who at some point was the face of the promotion. Perry and BKFC were eventually at odds when McGregor claimed that “Platinum” was deposited for starting his own organization.
Cooler heads have prevailed and Perry will be opposed to Jeremy Stephens on BKFC 82 in Newark on 4 October. During an interview with Mike Heck van Mmafighting.comPerry said that although he focuses on ‘Lil Heathen’, he believes that a confrontation with McGregor is possible.
“I think we have a good fight on October 4. That’s what it matters, and I will continue to build myself, and if I make enough noise and do a show and performance of large enough. I think the possibilities of Conor that comes in and fighting can be very real, and we just take it a day at the same time.”
Although the Gamesmanship between Perry and McGregor is underway, mutual respect remains. “Platinum” also believes that McGregor still wants to compete.
“… To fight Conor would be incredible because I know he’s getting the itch, and I know he is very busy and he has put himself in a great place in life where he doesn’t have to fight. But you can see the wish he has.”
Although McGregor publicly shows the interest in fighting again, he has not participated since he broke his leg during a 2021 trilogy against Dustin Poirier. He would be facing Michael Chandler in 2024, but the game was drawn after McGregor had sustained an injury.
McGregor recently threw his name in the hat for a fight on a UFC card in the White House.
