Last season the Utah Hockey Club saw a lot of encouraging development of its young stars. Because of this development, their inaugural season in Salt Lake City was an overwhelming success when they competed for a play -off place late in the season.
Under all clear places, however, there were a few players who continued their first season in Salt Lake City. Now that the 2025-26 season of Utah Mammoth is approaching, I want to look at their situations and explain why we will see a Bounce-Back season of both Lawson Crouse and Connor Ingram.
Connor Ingram returns
The NHL and NHL player association has recently released Ingram to return to Hockey after entering the player utility in March after the death of his mother after a Fight with breast cancer. After hearing what Ingram had experienced, his struggles in the net last season were more than justified, and it was logical why he looked like a completely different goalkeeper than in seasons earlier.
During the first two seasons of his career, Ingram had a .907 savings percentage and saved 8.04 goals above the expected for the Arizona Coyotes. Before he came to the Coyotes, Ingram had entered the player tool when he was at the Nashville Predators, which he later spoke about one Non-diagnosed case of obsessive-compulsive disorder.
After his return from the program and establishing himself as a full-time player in the NHL, Ingram won the Bill Masterton Memorial Trophy in 2023-24 when he started 48 games for the Coyotes, 5.2 goals above saved and finished for the competition food in Shutouts.
When you start the program in the past season, In a message on social mediaIngram said: “At this point in my life I have to put my health first and take the right time I need to come back to 100%.” Yet he was sure that “Although many consider the program to be a source for substance abuse, I want to recognize everything they do. I am again privileged to have access to their world -class health workers to hopefully avoid negative effects in the long term to put your health in second place. With the help of the program, I can get the medical help back.”
Because Ingram gives priority to his well -being and returns to 100% and also has a training camp to get back on speed, it is more than likely that we will see Ingram return to his consistent form from his first two full seasons in the NHL. If this is the case, and Karel Vejmelka can maintain his play level of last season, the Mammoet is in an excellent position, in terms of goal convening.
Lawson Crouse’s new depth -role
Lawson Crouse started last season The associated captain of UtahA special indication of the traditional alternative captain. This would have added some pressure to crouse. Before the season started, however, crouse and his wife, Claire, welcomed their first child in the worldWhat a considerable pressure would have added outside the game and probably contributed to his struggles on the ice.
In addition to becoming a father for the first time, Crouse was thrown into a different role Last season with Logan Cooley and Dylan Guenther start eating more ice age. Eventually he lost more than three minutes of ice age per game and finished the season with 12 goals and 18 points.

These 12 goals are compared with his three previous seasons where he scored 20 or more goals every time. Although he may not be expected to score 20-plus in his new role as depth, it is not interesting with his decrease in the target scores last season with a decrease in the scoring volume, but more arising from a lack of aggressiveness with the Puck.
Without a decrease of chance volume, it is reasonable to expect that Crouse will improve its 9.2% shooting percentage last season, since Crouse had a shooting percentage north of 13% in four of the last five seasons. Crouse excels in the coming in high-economies of the ice and if he can consistently produce offense on the third line of the Mammoet, they become much more dynamic attacking.
Crouse & Ingram can be the X factors of Mammoth this season
Last season Utah missed the play -offs with only seven points. Despite their best depth -offensive weapon that struggles most of the season and without Ingram, a capable starting goalkeeper, they still drastically improved compared to their last season in Arizona.
The combination of a full-healthy Ingram and Vejmelka’s performance that continues last season is a tandem strong enough to lead the Mammoet to the play-offs this season. Add a bounce back season of Crouse to improve the depth score of the mammoth and further development of players such as Cooley, Guenther and newly acquired JJ Peterka, and this could be the season that breaks the mammoth and makes the Stanley Cup playoffs.
After stabilizing their blue line, depth -scoring and a second goalkeeper was everything that lacked the mammoth. A better season of Crouse and Ingram can solve those problems.
