At the time of writing I am working on a work that is the largest in glass that I have done so far. It is very planning to work with weight and suspension, because it will be a big work that now hangs on the ceiling on the Fair Atordable Art Fair in October. It’s a bit nervous, everything must be good!
I usually use colored glass, but wanted to use more glass colors for this, then you can get many more lively surfaces and mix your own shades. Moreover, I was lucky to choose many glass colors from my mother’s studio this summer! She sent them in a package because they are quite toxic, so I didn’t want to take them on the train with the children.
When they arrived, it was time to start the color tests:

The color pigments must be mixed with flux and glass medium. Gloves, glasses and mouth protection on!
They are often quite strong while painting, but when you burn them in the oven, the color will slow down and they will often be very different from it first seems to be first

The day after when the oven program ended, they looked like this. As you can see, the orange became completely different. One became transparent and the other yellow. They would have been burned around 600 ° to get their right color. The others require a higher temperature.
