Palmer previously scored three goals in the opening period against Everton in April 2024 and Brighton in September 2024, when he became the first player to score four goals in the first half of a Premier League match.
Liam Rosenior praised his star man after the final whistle, telling BBC Match of the Day: “Cole loves playing football. I love watching. Not just him, the whole team. When they’re in the mood, doing the right thing and have the right mentality, they’re an excellent group of players. And Cole is definitely someone we want on the pitch more often than not.
