In recent weeks, a NFL Media audience has joined Minnesota Vikings fans by believing that seven-time Pro Bowl Cornerback Jalen Ramsey could be traded to the purple team.
A big idea of the Vikings may be dead in the water, a disappointment for some who want a super team selection.
Ramsey is available through trade according to the lips of Miami Dolphin’s general manager Chris Grier, and because Ramsey won a super bowl with the 2021 Los Angeles Rams and Kevin O’Connell, Ramsey to Minnesota has won Momnesota.
But then Jeremy Fowler from ESPN came by this week to cast cold water over the exciting theory.

Just when the Ramsey rumor really felt for purple fans, Fowler threw a key in the plan. He jumped on KFAN this week and told the network that the money in a Ramsey deal may not work in Minnesota.
Said Fowler About the idea that Ramsey is being shipped to Minnesota: “I have thought about that with the Vikings. I have checked that. I would not, unless something changes with the money, might be involved. From what was told me, the money would be a kind of non-starter for Minnesota. I wouldn’t have them completely.”
“I still have the rams, and then it is difficult to find out which team becomes the mystery team. Seattle is interested because they looked at free agencies, and they wanted to set a corner and not, so they still have a need there. And then Washington, of what I heard, at least at one point.”
The realism from a Ramsey trade to Minnesota actually hit a fever last week.
Fowler added: “But many of these teams are torn by the money because of the guaranteed $ 24 million. The rams are waiting a bit. It is really interesting. I think it will be done, I just don’t know what it will look like financially.”
“But I know he is supposed to be traded in a little short order, so I think I could see it coming together in the coming week.”
Never say never for some
Of course, because the idea from Ramsey to Minnesota is so sparkling, some will ignore Fowler’s comments and ignore the best.
Ramsey is 30 years old, so the age is not ideal, but it is important to note that the next Ramsey team will not only hope that the man will have something in the tank. He is still a top 10 cornerback and shows little to no sign of delay.
In that spirit it is a bit bizarre that Miami wants to exchange him.
What is more, a Ramsey deal for Minnesota would hardly stop the grid, if it is assumed that Quarterback JJ McCarthy in 2025 will play at least decent. The depth card would show zero weaknesses with Ramsey in the cornerback room. No.
A Vikings CB unit with Ramsey
This is what the Cornerback group of Minnesota would like if Fowler was wrong and a trade goes through:

- Byron Murphy Jr.
- Isaiah Rodgers
- Mekhi Blackmon
- Jeff Okudah
- Dwight Mcglothern
The unit would really look like a super bowl team -probably why fans have fallen in love with the Ramsey idea.
Other CB options
Suppose Fowler is correct and a Ramsey trade is not conceivable for general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah. Greg Newsome II can include another trade for a more affordable angle of the Cleveland Browns of Tariq Woollen from the Seattle Seahawks.
Free agents such as Jack Jones, Mike Hilton, Asante Samuel Jr. And Rasul Douglas also stay on the open market.
Adofo-Mensah has CB options if Fowler is doing well. He can even be satisfied with his current group.
