Seventeen coaches from thirteen countries have successfully achieved their World ParaVolley Level 2 coaching qualification after completing an intensive three-day practice in Kigali (Rwanda), marking an important milestone in the continued evolution of performance coaching in sitting volleyball.
The program brought together participants from Rwanda, Algeria, Nigeria, Kenya, Tanzania, Iran, Senegal, Benin, Togo, Mozambique, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and South Africa – showcasing the global reach and diversity of those committed to the newly established World ParaVolley coaching pathway.
The Level 2 qualification equips coaches with advanced skills to improve athletes’ performance and contribute to the long-term development of the sport in their respective countries and regions. Following extensive e-learning (Part A), coaches took part in a mix of theory, practical application (Part B) and collaboration sessions with colleagues, all aimed at deepening their understanding of coaching principles, athlete development and leadership in sport.
This Level 2 practical course was delivered under the guest expertise of Rwanda NPC, as part of its ongoing commitment to raising coaching standards and promoting international cooperation in sports development.
WPV Coaches Commission Team Leader Matt Rogers expressed his delight at the newly qualified Level 2 coaches, saying:
“Everyone on this Level 2 course demonstrated exceptional commitment, teamwork and passion for coaching. Their success represents not only their personal achievement, but also the collective advancement of coaching in Africa. We are proud that such diversity and enthusiasm is driving the next generation of coaching excellence. A special mention goes to the six female coaches who completed the course and are now the only WPV Level 2 coaches in the world!”

The course was expertly taught by Hadi Rezaei and Dr. Mosaad Elaiuty, who both guided the coaches through all sessions and learning objectives and offered their perspectives and guidance. Hadi reflected that
“I am very grateful to World ParaVolley for creating this valuable opportunity to be with Dr. Mosaad and such an inspiring group of coaches. Sharing our experiences and learning from each other made this course truly special.
I believe that with more courses like this, sitting volleyball will become stronger, more advanced and even more beautiful day by day. My sincere thanks to everyone who made this possible.”
With their new Level 2 qualifications, these 17 coaches are now better equipped to inspire, guide and develop athletes at national and international level, strengthening the foundation for future sporting success in their countries. Participants praised the collaborative environment of the course and highlighted the opportunity to exchange experiences and approaches with peers from different cultural and sporting contexts.
