CNN data analyst Harry Enten recently suggested that a majority of Americans believe Trump will keep his promises.
He also noted that Trump’s favorability now is basically the same as it was before the 2024 election, and said this news would be stunning to people on the left who would expect it to be much lower.
Enten thinks it is a shame that Trump’s new nickname has to be ‘Steady Eddie’.

HARRY ENTEN, CNN Chief Data Analyst: You know, sometimes I think it’s worth using those 35,000 votes. And as far as the American people are concerned, Trump might be better known as the stable Eddie.
What are we talking about here? Well, why don’t we take a look here? Favorable view of Donald Trump. You know, if you go back to October 2024, 44 percent of the American public viewed him favorably. Look, despite everything, 43 percent, which is well within the margin of error of that 44 percent. And here’s the thing to keep in mind. This was good enough to get Trump re-elected in 2024. And Donald Trump is actually at the same point here now, which I think would surprise a lot of people, especially a lot of people on the left, who strongly disagree with a lot of what Donald Trump has done.
Bold: What do you see underneath and driving in it? Why is he even the same?
Or: OK. You know, to quote the esteemed scholar (ph), Dennis Green, the former head coach of the National Football League, Donald Trump is who voters thought he was. What are we talking about here? Well, is Trump doing what he promised in the 2024 campaign?
Yes, 52 percent, the majority of Americans say Donald Trump is doing what he promised, compared to 48 percent who said no. So essentially what’s going on here is that voters expected all of this from Donald Trump, the majority did, and that’s why his favorable rating, simply put, hasn’t really changed that much from where it was a year ago. Trump is actually doing what the American people thought he was going to do. In fact, if you look at the numbers, Trump has the most stable positive rating to this extent as president of any president ever. And it’s actually where he was a year ago. Good enough to get him re-elected.
Watch the video below:
To paraphrase Dennis Green, Trump is who voters thought he was. The majority (52%) say he has done what he promised.
His favorable rating is essentially the same as a year ago (right before he was re-elected).

After everything they tried, the left hasn’t even made a dent in Trump.
