Glasgow Clan went the top of the Elite League with a 3-2 victory over the Manchester Storm in the first league match of the new campaign.
Both parties started clearly, but the clan took control of the opening period with two fast goals. Deven Sideroff placed the hosts 6:22 in the game with a shot that ran over Evan Weninger. The lead was doubled when Brett Neumann on a rebound of a Joe Hazeldine feed, set up by Tristin Langan, with just over four minutes left in the period.
The clan made it 3-0 only 2:57 in the second when Rylan Schwartz’s Scot from the point makes its way through traffic and past Weninger. Joseph Nardi pulled one back for the storm on a strange man after the clan was in possession of the Puck who possibly had the former Clanman Gary’s bends-to 32:42.
The visitors set up a tense finish when JD Dudek lowered the shortage to 3-2 with 13:37 to play. Winger was pulled twice within the last 90 seconds, but the storm could not find the equalizer.
