Lawford’s winless start continued as they fell 6-4 to Brotherhood D, although they will feel frustrated losing all four games that went the distance. Charlie Denholm grabbed a few ahead of Lawford and James Tindle.

A two-player Nomads Ocelots will be glad they kept the talented Brotherhood H side from an unexpected draw. Mike Wellum’s three for the Ocelots included the narrowest of 3-2 (11-9, 9-11, 9-11, 13-11, 13-11) wins over Gary Simpson, while Hazel Blanche pulled off a surprise win over Owen Woollard and then, with Wellum, took the doubles against Simpson and Dan Grindrod.

Peter Evans remained undefeated and shared a doubles success with Dave Wright over Dave Sweetland and John Plummer. It was also 8-2 for Brotherhood B against Walton B, with the in-form Russell Hillier remaining undefeated.
