CJ Fulton was the first player born in Ireland who once participated in the Summer League with the Timberwolves in July. Ireland has not been a country that is well represented in the history of the NBA. Now, during a Training Camp deal, there is one skill that Fulton showed at a collegial level that would help his chances to eventually make an NBA schedule and to become the second player born in Ireland to appear in a regular season game.

Although the Timberwolves still have two open schedules, it is extremely unlikely that Fulton will make the Timberwolves team on the opening evening. The 23-year-old will probably get a few minutes during the six-game preseason of Minnesota before he starts the 2025-26 season in the G League with the Iowa Wolves.
Before Fulton became unknown in 2025, Fulton played collegial for four years. His first two were at Lafayette and the most recent two he played for the College of Charleston. During those four years, and especially in his last year, the 6-foot-2 point watch showed the opportunity to find his teammates without turning the ball.
In 2024-25, Fulton was a total of 209 assists while he only ran the ball 43 times. That is only six assists shy for an assist-to-stunning ratio of exactly five for the year. Fulton 3.8 gave assists for every turnover for his four -year university career. It is remarkable that Fulton had more steals in every season than revenue.
That perceptible skill should remind Timberwolves fans of an active Point Guard who started his NBA career at Minnesota. Tyus Jones spent his first four seasons with the Wolves from 2015-16 to 2018-19, where he had an assist-to-stunning ratio of 5.76. That went on for Jones after leaving Minnesota, when he recorded an assist-to-omzetratio of 7.35 in 2023-24 with the wizards with the wizards, the best figure in a single season in the NBA history.
Pat Burke is the only player born in Ireland who appears in a regular season game
While Fulton became the first player born in Ireland to play in a summer competition match, there was only one such player for a regular season game from NBA. That would be Pat Burke, who was a total of 127 performances for three seasons with the magic and sunbathing.
Again, it is very unlikely that Fulton will be the second to be the opening evening. However, a strong show in the preseason will hold him on the radar of the Timberwolves (as well as the 29 other NBA teams).
