City Union Bank on Monday partnered with financial wellness platform SalarySe to launch the Level Up Credit Card, a credit card built exclusively for salaried employees and powered by Credit on UPI technology.

“In line with the Reserve Bank of India’s vision to promote a cashless economy, the card is designed to reward the real spending habits of working professionals through daily UPI payments, online transactions, essential monthly bills and in-store purchases,” the companies said in a statement.

“Salary day bonus”

The Level Up Credit Card introduces a ‘Salary Day Bonus’ feature, offering up to 37.5 percent rewards on paydays, allowing employees to maximize returns on essential expenses that coincide with payroll cycles. Unlike conventional credit cards that focus rewards on certain use cases, this offering integrates credit into the UPI ecosystem while maintaining credit access through employer-based payroll verification.

The partnership leverages SalarySe’s payroll-driven financial infrastructure with City Union Bank’s trust and regulatory framework. Users can get instant access to revolving lines of credit within everyday UPI transactions, eliminating the need for standalone loan applications.

“Employed individuals are the backbone of India’s consumer economy, and this partnership with Salary Se aligns perfectly with our commitment to expanding digital inclusion while encouraging disciplined credit usage,” said Vijay Anandh R, Executive Director of City Union Bank.

Mohit Gorisariya, co-founder of SalarySe, said: “With Credit-on-UPI, rewards designed around real life, luxury benefits like lounge access and lower currency surcharges and predictable financial flexibility, this product simplifies money for millions of working professionals and improves their lifestyles.” Unlike conventional credit cards that focus rewards on certain use cases, this offering integrates credit into the UPI ecosystem while maintaining credit access through employer-based payroll verification.
