World number one Jannik Sinner and hot rival Carlos Alcaraz will be confronted for the fourth time this season after both Straight sets have booked victories in the title match on the ATP-WTA Cincinnati Open on Saturday (August 16, 2025).

Defined defender Sinner Subtandlessly Submitted the 136th ranked qualifying match Terence Atmane 7-6 (7/4), 6-2, while the Spanish second seed Alcaraz defeated a distressed Alexander Zverev, who suffered poorly to the 32 Celsius warmth and humidity, against 6-4, 6-3.

This season Alcaraz and Sinner played for trophies in Rome, Roland Garros and Wimbledon, where the Italian won their most recent in the All England Club last month.

Sinner, who celebrated his 24th birthday, ended the dream run of the Frenchman Atmane and will now try to be the first man since Roger Federer in 2014-15 to win back-to-back titles in Cincinnati.

Sinner, who tunes for the US Open in his first tournament since winning Wimbledon, did not drop a set on his way to the final.

“It is a very, very tough challenge every time you play a new opponent,” said Sinner. “In the later stages of the tournament, the pressure is on, they deserve to be there.”

Alcaraz also plays in his second Cincy final after losing Novak Djokovic in 2023.

The Spaniard increased its ATP season competition for 53 in a year of five titles.

Alcaraz broke Zverev once in the opening to claim it before the German, who has diabetes, started to feel bad and took a medical time out of the court after the third match of the second set.

Zverev, who has retired in just two games since 2014, came back to finish what a fragmentary match was from Alcaraz, who won double mistakes for times in the second game of the second set but won the last 12 points with Zverev who ran on Fumes.

“We started well with good rallies, a good level,” said Alcaraz. ā€œSuddenly he felt bad and I thought more about it about how he felt like playing good tennis.

“It was difficult and I just wish him the very best.”

Alcaraz said he would like to try to take his Wimbledon revenge on Sinner in the Unorthodox Monday Final.

“We always bring our best tennis. We increase each other’s level. I am ready to take on the challenge,” said Alcaraz.

“I will try to better adjust my game and correct what I did wrong in our last game. I want to be ready with my 100%. I am ready – I am enthusiastic for Monday.”

‘Busy was on me’

Atmane gave a party pig boy a Pokemon card shortly before they went on the field, but he was in a less mood once they were going.

But Sinner only transmitted three points in his first six service games when they went to the Tiebreaker with neither man who was confronted with a breaking point.

Atmane Double shot at the first point of the decision maker and the sinner was gone, a 5-2 lead and the set in his second chance.

“My experience helped in the first set,” he said. ā€œI am very happy to continue to another final.

“I tried to concentrate on myself, how I usually play and then try to adapt a bit to his game style,” Sinner said. ā€œAnd that is exactly what I did today.

“The pressure was on me. That is normally in the position I am – he was ready to fight.”

“My goal has always been the US open, but we have the work here, in the gym and in practice. I hope to be ready for New York.”

Sinner showed a first sign of vulnerability, because he needed five playing points to keep in the opening match of the second set.

But that was closest to his serve, and the sinner broke the Frenchman for a 3-1 lead and again to seal the game.

Atmane, who is expected to crack the top 70 in the world ranking, since May 2021 became the 22nd straight French victim of Sinner, when he lost to Arthur Rinder Knech in Lyon.
