The second round competition in Cincinnati closes on Sunday, when the young Americans student ten and Ethan Quinn take the court. Ten has a rematch with Andrey Rublev on his hands, while Quinn Jakub meets Mensik.

Student Tiena vs. (9) Andrey Rublev

It will be a rematch of Washington, DC when Rublev and ten go against each other again, this time in round two of the Western & Southern Open on Sunday afternoon. At the Mubadala Citi opened two weeks ago, ten took a 7-5, 6-2 upset. At least Rublev managed to rectify the ship to a certain extent in Toronto, where he won three games before he lost Taylor Fritz in the quarterfinals.

Tien is on a role. The 19-year-old was a quarter-finalist on Gras (Mallorca, where he defeated Ben Shelton) and after his performance on the third round in Washington he reached the fourth round in Toronto. Nowhere is ten better than he is on out -hard courts, plus he has another home advantage in relation to Rublev in the United States. There is no reason why a second consecutive upset cannot be in the cards.

Pick: Ten in 3

(16) Jakub feared vs. Ethan Quinn

Mensik has already triumphed this season at one of the American Masters 1000 tournaments. In one of the most shocking results of 2025, 19-year-old Czech lifted the trophy in Miami on, where he beat Jack Draper, Taylor Fritz and Novak Djokovic. Mensik has cooled considerably since then, but he is still a solid No. 17 in the world (career high) and no. 17 in the race to Turin.

First for the 16th seed on Sunday is a second meeting with Quinn, who earlier this season lost 7-6 (4), 6-1 on Madrid’s red clay. Quinn’s Breakout 2025 campaign contains 11 victories on the main tour, including a 7-6 (5), 6-4 defeat of Miomir Kecmanovic on Friday. The 82nd ranking American has done an impressive work by beating consistent opponents that he would have to defeat in the early stages of his career, but he has not yet raised his level to draw a big upset over a very ranked player. That is a trend that will probably continue this weekend.

Pick: Siking in 2
