Olympiacos wonderkid Christos Mouzakitis has reportedly outlined his preferred transfer destination as Manchester United and Real Madrid battle for his signature.
United interested in Mouzakitis
Mouzakitis is emerging as a key figure in Greece’s exciting golden generation of players.
A confident and composed midfielder, Mouzakitis stands out for his excellent first touch and exceptional close control in crowded areas. He is also an excellent passer, able to circulate possession reliably, break lines and seamlessly connect the midfield to the final third.
He has often drawn comparisons with his idol Luka Modric and former Paris Saint-Germain star Marco Verratti.
An earlier report from The Peoples Person claimed that United are monitoring Mouzakitis as part of their renewed bid to sign some of the world’s best and brightest talent.
However, United are not alone in their interest, with Real Madrid also keeping a close eye on the 18-year-old.
There are suggestions that Los Blancos are ready to make a bid for Mouzakitis in a bid to win the race for his services.
Now Football Insider reveals that Mouzakitis would prefer to join Xabi Alonso ahead of other potential destinations such as Old Trafford.
Mouzakitis makes transfer position clear
According to Football insider”Man United may lose Christos Mouzakitis as the midfielder prefers a move to Real Madrid.”
“Xabi Alonso is a big fan of Mouzakitis, which could make a deal for Ruben Amorim quite difficult in the coming transfer windows.”
Peter O’Rourke told the news channel: “Real Madrid would be front runners for Mouzakitis. They see him as a potential superstar in the making and they are keen to bring him to Spain.”
“The player is also thought to be interested in a move to the Bernabeu, which could also give Real Madrid an edge over all rivals for the attacking midfielder.”
Mouzakitis has made seventeen appearances in all competitions for Olympiakos this season. He scored two goals and one assist during that period.
