Christian Natividad grew up on the path to MMA
Mixed martial arts has been the focus of Christian Natividad since day one. A master of all sports, he found his calling on the wrestling mats and earned glory on the mat before transitioning to the cage full-time.
“I’ve always been an outdoor kid,” Christian Natividad began. “Growing up, we played a lot of soccer in the park, basketball, soccer, relay races and basically everything kids did back then.”
Christian Natividad tried his hand at many athletic disciplines before deciding to enter the world of competitive violence.
“I started skateboarding and quit right before high school,” he said. “I participated in the JROTC program throughout high school and I started wrestling my junior and senior year of high school. I wrestled a little in college, but then I decided to fight MMA because my brother was doing it and I really enjoyed training with him.”
Christian Natividad dominated on the wrestling mats and would earn the Hawaiian boys 120-pound state championship in 2014 before briefly attending a top-ranked NAIA at Southern Oregon University. Natividad would then transfer to Arizona State University before taking up MMA full-time with his brother, Kevin Natividad, who is also a professional mixed martial artist.
Fighting in the blood for the Christian nativity scene
It is said that shedding blood on the mats with your fellow training partners makes you family. For Christian Natividad he sheds blood with his biological brother, Kevinin the cage. Older brother Kevin has been a fighting game veteran since 2016, where he made his professional debut at WFF 32.
For Natividad, his brother was a major influence. “To this day, he is still one of my most important training partners, and also one of my coaches,” said Christian Natividad.
Now train at the MMA lab, Natividad has some of the best teammates and coaches in the world helping him create the ultimate fighting game. Located in Arizona, the MMA Lab is home to MMA stars like UFC fighter/coach Jared Cannonier, former UFC champion/coach Benson Henderson, rising star Abdul Kamara, and many others.
Christian Natividad: from debut to LFA mountaintop
Christian Natividad was set to make his professional MMA debut in July 2020 on the LFA 85: Hughes vs Demopoulos card, where he would face Michael Aquila. Natividad would get the first round knockout, but not as quickly as Kevin, scoring a knockout over a minute faster in the evening’s co-main event. Natividad would, if possible, improve from his quick knockout on his debut to turn around in October 2020 and end the year for him with a 29 second knockout at LFA 92.
2021 would see much of the same success. In his first fight of the year, which took place at LFA 100 in February 2021, Natividad would go all out and earn the unanimous decision over Evan Woolsey.
This time there was no big brother on the menu and the family’s attention fell solely on the upcoming 135er. Natividad would compete just twice in 2021, capping off his year of fighting in July at LFA 110 with another dominant unanimous decision victory.
2024 Further
Starting in the summer of 2021, which would span the next three years, fans would only see Natividad in the cage once, earning a decision victory at LFA 144 in October 2022. In November 2024, Natividad would return to regular action with a decision victory at LFA 196 against Devon Jackson.
2025 would prove to be another big year in the rising star’s career. At LFA 210 in June 2025, Natividad would earn another decision nod, this time against a very dangerous opponent in Jose Sandoval.
In his most recent outing, Natividad would score a huge knockout against Jostin Quilca at LFA 220 in October in the first frame of action.
So what’s the ultimate goal for one of the sport’s highest rising starts? “Contenders Series or short term; I’m excited for whatever. The UFC Championship is the goal; the journey doesn’t matter!” said Natividad.
