Chris Finch perfectly explained what makes Joe Ingles so valuable

Joe Ingles is 38 years old and clearly approaches the end of his NBA play career. After he had hardly seen any action for the Timberwolves last season, it might have surprised some to see how quickly she signed again as soon as the free desk started in the low season. Chris Finch, however, spoke about how much they appreciate the leadership of Ingles, while he is ready for his 12th NBA season.

Chris Finch speaks about the value of Joe Ingles against Timberwolves

Finch recently interviewed with Britt Robson from Minnpost. They discussed a multitude of wolven-related topics and the less used Ingles was also brought up. Timberwolves’ head coach was asked about the value that Ingles offers the team, and Finch had a glowing assessment.

“I think he has a few things for him, Finch said. First of all, he is Super-Slim, one of those high-IQ guys. He has a great relationship with Rudy because he can talk to Rudy in a way that some players cannot talk to Rudy. Role, but only to have another person.

Minnesota is certainly not the only team that a veteran roasts to offer leadership as an end of the bank, despite the fact that they will rarely play. The heat did it for years with Udonis Haslem. The Knicks did to end with PJ Tucker last season.

Ingles clearly became a beloved member of the team last season, even though it was rarely used. That became even clearer on March 21, when Chris Finch placed him in the starting line -up. Finch knew that the autistic son of Ingles, Jacob, would be present.

When Jon Krawczynski of the athletics wrote, An eruption was heard of the dressing room of the Timberwolves when they found out that Ingles would start. That shows how beloved Ingles became by his teammates, even if it was only his first year with Minnesota.

Ingles was an impactful player at Jazz earlier in his career

For a long time, Ingles was an integral piece about jazz teams that often reached the play -offs. He on average at least 24 minutes per match for six consecutive seasons that span from 2016-17 to 2021-22. As Finch mentioned, Ingles can talk to Rudy Gobert like other teammates may not, and that is probably because they were eight seasons together in Utah.

Receiving a lot of playing time was certainly not the case for the 6-foot-8 Vooruit in 2024-25, his first year with Minnesota. Ingles appeared in just 19 games for a total of 114 minutes. He did not appear in the late season.

Do not assume that the Timberwolves have wasted a schedule for a former entrances into the past. Finch and his teammates are well aware of the value he offers, and that is why he was quickly signed again.
