Chris Finch perfectly explained what makes Joe Ingles so valuable

Joe Ingles is 38 years old and clearly approaches the end of his NBA play career. After he had hardly seen any action for the Timberwolves last season, it might have surprised some to see how quickly she signed again as soon as the free desk started in the low season. Chris Finch, however, spoke about how much they appreciate the leadership of Ingles, while he is ready for his 12th NBA season.

Finch recently interviewed with Britt Robson from Minnpost. They discussed a multitude of wolven-related topics and the less used Ingles was also brought up. Timberwolves’ head coach was asked about the value that Ingles offers the team, and Finch had a glowing assessment.

Ingles was an impactful player at Jazz earlier in his career

For a long time, Ingles was an integral piece about jazz teams that often reached the play -offs. He on average at least 24 minutes per match for six consecutive seasons that span from 2016-17 to 2021-22. As Finch mentioned, Ingles can talk to Rudy Gobert like other teammates may not, and that is probably because they were eight seasons together in Utah.

Receiving a lot of playing time was certainly not the case for the 6-foot-8 Vooruit in 2024-25, his first year with Minnesota. Ingles appeared in just 19 games for a total of 114 minutes. He did not appear in the late season.

Do not assume that the Timberwolves have wasted a schedule for a former entrances into the past. Finch and his teammates are well aware of the value he offers, and that is why he was quickly signed again.
