Last fall, Chipotle announced that it used an AI tool with the name “Ava Cado” to accelerate its recruitment process. And so far it works well for the burrito maker.
Chipotle Chief Human Resources Officer Ilene Eskenazi told CNBC Monday that since the implementation of technology, the number of applicants that the company has received, has increased “dramatically”.
Eskenazi said that the company has seen a completion percentage of 85%, much higher than average, because the tool helps to fill in candidates, which means that the time needed to complete is shortened to complete.

“[It] Has our funnel greatly raised, so that we serve many more candidates for our managers to evaluate, “said Eskenazi.
“AVA Cado” interacts with applications, answers questions, collects information and planning interviews with (human) recruitment managers. It also speaks several languages: English, Spanish, French and German.
In October, Chipotle CEO Scott Boatwright said that the tool reduced the recruitment times to 75%. This week Eskenazi gave an example and said it used to be 12 days to get a candidate applicable to prepare. Thanks to AVA Cado, it now takes three and a half day – and they appear much more prepared.
“They are much better informed about what the job is real, and so we know that the applicants are much more interested in the work by the time they personally meet a recruitment manager,” said Eskenazi. “I am personally pleasantly surprised by how many candidates enjoyed interaction with AVA.”
However, it did not help with the sale. Last week, Chipotle reported That traffic was taken for the second quarter in a row.
