The very first World Humanoid Robot Games Are closed with some new world records, but don’t expect them to beat people quickly in a 100-meter dashboard. The three-day robotics event in Beijing, China that saw humanoid robots competing in everything, from boxing to cleaning this weekend. According to the World Humanoid Robot Games, more than 280 teams came from 16 countries, including the US, Germany, Brazil and the host country, their robots in the event.

A majority of the teams came from universities, but various teams came from established robotics companies such as Unitree and Fournier Intelligence. Hundreds of robots participated in traditional sporting events such as running, football and table tennis, together with events for more practical tasks, such as cleaning or sorting medicines. Unitree Hupparted gold medals in four categories, including the Dash events of 1500 meters, 400 meters, 100 meters and 4×100 meters. According to Unitree, the fastest speed reached by one of his robots during the event was 4.78 m/s, which is around 10 mph.

In the 100-meter sprint, Unitree had a time of 33.71 seconds, but that is not nearly near the world record holder Usain Bolt’s Time of 9.58 secondsthat was reached in 2009.
