The China Smash 2025 presented by Beijing Shijingshan Culture & Tourism Group ended on Sunday. For men’s singles, both the semi -final and the finals were played on this last day, and fans were treated to a great finish of one of the greatest events of the year.
In the early semi -final surprise Felix Lebrun (no. 7) Surprise World No. 2 Lin Shidong. Lebrun caught fire and easily won the first game 11-5. Shidong then found his pass and easily won the next two games at 7 and 6. The fourth game was a strict battle, in which Shidong first reached 8, but then Lebrun won four of the next five points to win the game and bind the game. From there it was all Felix Lebrun, dominated the last two games and earned his place in the final. In the other half of the draw, World No. 1 Wang Chuqin opposite World No. 9 Xiang Peng and it was Peng that first won the first two games. The two then exchanged the next two games, with Peng up with 3-1, but Chuqin finished strongly to win the last three games and take the match 4-3.
The two semi -final matches were exciting. The final was missing the same intensity or drama. Wang Chuqin won the first match 11-7, dominated the next two games at 2 and 5 and then concluded the game with an 11-7 victory. For Chuqin, at the tournament, he just losing a few points on Lin Shidong and the risk of losing the number 1 ranking. He not only came to the occasion, but he stuck his position with an emphatic three -part exclamation. Chuqin not only won the title of the men’s singles, he also worked with Lin Shidong to win men’s doubles, and collaborated with Sun Yingsha to win mixed doubles. These are three titles on one of the largest phases in international table tennis.
The final of the ladies singles was also decided on Sunday and it included a small upset. That is, World No. 1 Sun Yingsha and World No. 2 Wang Manyu have confronted each other many times with Sun Yingsha who won about two -thirds of the time (26 wins in 38 meetings). Today it was the underdog that was victorious, with Wang Manyu won 4-2. Manyu also won women’s doubles, together with Kuai Man.
The Tour then gives its sights to Europe, where a WTT champion event will be held at the end of the month in Montpellier, France, and a second champion event will be held in the first week of November in Frankfurt, Germany. The WTT final will be in Hong Kong in December and the WTT champions will be in Doha in January
