Minister -President N. Chandababu Naidu On Saturday (September 6), the health authorities ordered an emergency to explain an emergency in the village of Turakapalem in the Turakapalem district, after the death of 20 people in the past two months due to a non -inspired disease.
By revising the situation with high officials on Saturday, the Chief Minister indicated that all patients with symptoms are immediately moved to hospitals and that extensive health camps are organized in the village at the weekend. He emphasized that medical tests must be performed for all residents and that individual health profiles are willing to guarantee effective monitoring.
Naidu asked the health department to look for the expertise of doctors of AIIMS, Mangalagiri and, if necessary, international specialists. He has also assigned civil servants to ensure the range of safe drinking water to prevent further infections. “No new case may be reported after this,” he said.
Civil servants informed the Chief Minister that provisional findings indicate the possible spread of melioidosis, a bacterial infection, as the cause of the deaths. Blood samples were sent to laboratories for confirmation, with reports that are expected within three days.
They added that the disease has spread from cattle, because most villagers depend on raising animals. Farmers can also run a higher risk as a result of exposure to rainwater -filled fields during the current rainy season. It is known that melioidosis spreads faster during flooding and heavy rainfall, officials explained.
Because of the situation, the main minister led through the situation and assured that all preventive measures would be taken to limit the suspected outbreak.
