The facelifted Chery Omoda 5 turns out to be a car with different names. Originally introduced in Russia as the Omoda C5, the renewed SUV was renamed the Chery C5 in Australia and Indonesia to distance themselves from the independent Omoda brand. Chery Malaysia, however, clearly wants to retain part of that association because it has just launched the car as the Chery O5.
Only one High-Spec Model is offered this time, priced on RM116.800 On the road without insurance RM2,000 less than the departing equivalent H variant. Included in the Catalog Prize is a seven -year guarantee/150,000 km and five years of free labor services, plus unlimited 24/7 assistance in the way as part of the Chery Insurance Program.
Buyers in the Early Bird will also benefit from a launch package consisting of a three -year free service package (including parts, Waard RM4,000), a powertrain guarantee of ten years/1,000,000 km (worth RM2,000) and monthly episodes from RM990 via purchase of Maybank Hire.

The big news with the facelift concerns the mechanics. The 1.5-liter turbo four-cylinder engine continues to push from 156 PS and 230 Nm of torque. It is the transmission that has been changed-the old CVT has been changed for a six-speed gearbox with wet double clutch. Even more consequences is that the much malignant torsion bundle rear-wheel suspension has been thrown overboard in favor of a Multilink setup.
Beyond the oily pieces, the updates are relatively mild. Despite the name change, the O5 retains traces of its old nomenclature through the new “Omoda” bathing on a black strip. This is in line with the updated L-shaped LED diagram lights that together give a family parable with the electric Omoda E5.

Below the bumper is considerably advanced, so that an X-shape together with the revised grid is formed-the latter the current chrome-littered design for body-colored squares, just like the Omoda C9. There is also a new design for the black 18-inch wheels, along with throwing the divided red highlights of the original model on the bumpers, door mirrors, rocker panels, tailgate spoiler and wheels-this are now finished in black.
The rest of the design remains unchanged in the same rear light for the entire width, large tailgate spoiler and twins (fake) exhaust pipes. This also applies to the interior with its full width of air valve design, wide-screen panel with Twin 10.25-inch screens, on contact-based aircon controls, blunt gear selection and seats in bucket style with integrated headrests with beige pipes.

Standard Kit Includes Auto LED Headlights, LED Front And Rear Fog Lights, Keyless Entry With Remote Engine Start, An Acoustic Glass Windscreen And Side Windows, Auto Wipers, Dual-Zone Climate Control With Rear Vans, A Sunroof Paser Driver and Four-Way Driver and Four-Way Driver and Four-Way Driver and Four-Way Driver and Four-Way Drivers Ventilation, Faux Leather Upholstery, Cooled Front Armrest Storage, 64-Color Ambient Lighting, Dual-Color vanity Mirror Lighting and a hands-free powered tailgate.
In terms of technology you get wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a Qi Wireless Charger, a Sony sound system with eight speakers and a 360-degree camera system with a transparency function. In terms of safety, the O5 with six airbags, stability control and a complete supplement to the driver’s assists, such as autonomous emergency brakes, adaptive cruise control with Stop and Go, lane center, blind spot monitoring, speed limit aid, a frontwarding alert and Hoogstraalhulp.
