There was constant media speculation about it throughout the January transfer window CHELSEA were going to take Jacquet from Rennes, but the asking price stopped a possible deal for the Frenchman.
There were constant rumors about whether or not he would join Chelsea, but then Premier League rivals Liverpool intervened, opening talks with the player and his club and agreeing to bring him to England at the end of the summer for a huge fee of £60 million.
That means Chelsea have been looking at alternatives for Jacquet, and it is now claimed by Tutto Juve that Chelsea are one of the clubs reportedly ready to offer Senesi a free move to Stamford Bridge.
Senesi will not renew his contract with Bournemouth this season and wants to make that move in the game, knowing that Chelsea, Juventus and Barcelona are also reportedly interested in offering him a contract.

At 28, Senesi is the kind of player the Chelsea board are reluctant to buy because he can’t agree one of those huge long-term contracts, but he is the right kind of player to sign.
Senesi has proven himself in the Premier League, is mature enough to be a leader at the back for Chelsea and big enough to handle the best attackers in the game. The fact that he could get a free deal would make sense for the Blues.
At some point CHELSEA will make their official move, they will make the player a contract offer which he can reject or sign up for, but one thing is certain: he would be a welcome addition to the Blues backline.
