Here’s the latest Chelsea transfer news and gossip. Former Blues star John Obi Mikel has claimed that the club needs more quality and experience in the attacking unit, and that they should sign Victor Osimhen.
Joao Pedro was Chelsea’s most expensive signing last summer at £60m, but a further £200m was spent on key signings Jamie Gittens, Alejandro Garnacho, Estevao Willian, Jorrel Hato and Liam Delap.
Those arrivals helped CHELSEA winning the Conference League last season and lifting the Club World Cup trophy this summer, beating Champions League holders PSG in the final.
But – Pedro’s £60m summer signing has scored seven goals in all competitions so far this season, having netted 30 in 70 appearances for his former club Brighton, and has regularly struggled to find the net
That has led to all kinds of speculation and rumors about who CHELSEA This transfer window could draw, and adding a new striker to the frontline who knows how to find the back of the net every week is what is needed.
The Nigerian International scored 26 goals for Galatasaray last season and this season he has 12 goals to his name. He has performed reliably at the highest level and helped Napoli win the league title before leaving Italy. He could have a similar impact at Chelsea if he joins the club
Mikel said via Air sports: “Victor Osimhen. He can stretch the game, he can go behind, he can come up short, he can score goals, he can do everything.
“You need that experienced striker who has been there, done it, knows how to win big games, knows how to score in big games, knows how to be in the right place at the right time.”

Osimhen is world class, he scores goals and a few seasons ago he would have been a quality signing for the Blues. But at this stage of his career, Chelsea probably don’t see the value in signing Osimhen for a few more seasons.
CHELSEA do need a striker, but Osimhen is a player the Blues should have signed a few seasons ago, not now.
ENZO FERNANDEZ LEFT?
There have been some shocking media reports claiming that Chelsea captain Enzo Fernandez is considering leaving Blues after the club decided to sack Enzo Maresca.
After a difficult start to his career at Stamford Bridge, Fernandez took over the captaincy following the appointment of Enzo Maresca and played a key role in leading the club to success in the Conference League and qualification for the Champions League last season.

The 24-year-old has flourished under Maresca and was disappointed by the club’s decision to part ways with the Italian earlier this month following the breakdown of the relationship between the coach and the board.
And according to The teamFernandez is so unsettled by the latest managerial turmoil that he is considering leaving in the summer amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain.
The reigning European champions built last season’s success around a midfield trio of Vitinha, Joao Neves and Fabian Ruiz, but Luis Enrique is keen to add more competition for places.
“Sir, thank you for everything shared and experienced during this stage, I learned a lot and I appreciate every advice and experience,” Fernandez said shortly after Maresca’s departure.
‘I wish you and your technical staff, Willy, Dani, Robi, Marcos and Mickey, all the best. We won two titles together that I will never forget.
‘Good luck to you and hopefully our paths will cross again in the future. A big hug.’

There are probably a number of players there CHELSEA who no longer want to be at the club, so we are not surprised that Fernandez is considering leaving the club, he wants to win trophies.
Under Maresca he played good football and won trophies. Liam Rosenior is a very good young manager, but can he lead the Blues to success? that’s the real question guys.
PALMER TIPPED TO MOVE
Stunning reports claim Manchester United are backed to finally sign boyhood Red Devils fan Cole Palmer if they can lure the Chelsea star’s former manager Mauricio Pochettino back to England.
In 81 Premier League games for CHELSEA the 23-year-old has produced 40 goals and 18 assists and is now easily regarded as one of the most highly rated young players in the game, and a player the Blues really rely on.
But despite the fact that he has a long-term contract, despite the fact that he has shown a desire to leave in previous spells, there is always speculation that he could leave if a big club comes along.
Now – Palmer has been tipped to make the move to Man United if the Red Devils can bring Mauricio Pochettino back to England after he leads the US at the World Cup in the summer.
Rene Meulensteen, who once worked with Sir Alex Ferguson in Manchester, told the story Casino house: “Can Mauricio Pochettino convince Cole Palmer to join Manchester United? Only if he does.” CHELSEA would like to let him go.
‘Palmer is a fantastic player and I think he would fit in very well with Manchester United and the way they should play because he is a difference maker. That’s always what you want.
‘You have to think about how he will fit in there, because on the right side, where Cole plays to get into the pocket, you can obviously also have Amad Diallo there or [Bryan] Mbeumo. Bruno [Fernandes] operates in the middle.
“Palmer was a United fan from a young age and it’s too strange for words that United never noticed and made sure they informed him of his plans if he ever left City. It’s very strange that it never happened, in my opinion.”
IcFootballnews says…
Look, this rumor that CHELSEA would be open to letting Palmer leave the club is upset, he is a star they can turn into one of the best in the game and a player who can win games on his own.
United may want Palmer, but that long contract means a move would be far too expensive for the Red Devils.
