Chelsea ‘Preparing a bid to sign Eduardo Camavinga

Chelsea are reportedly preparing an offer to sign Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, according to a recent Spanish report.

The Blues have spent a lot of money since acquiring Todd Boehly, with the majority of their spending focused on strengthening the midfield. They bought Moisés Caicedo and Enzo Fernández, making them two of the most expensive transfers in British football history.

In addition, the West London club has Romeo Lavia, Dario Essugo and Andrey Santos. On paper, Chelsea has sufficient resources in midfield.

However, Lavia is still struggling with fitness problems, while Essugo has been injured since the start of this season. Moreover, Fernandez has been linked with a departure in recent times.

It therefore seems that Enzo Maresca’s team is looking for a new midfielder. A Spanish report (via Transfers) state that Camavinga is on their radar and that they are ‘preparing an offer’ of around £66m to buy him in January.

Camavinga has been a key player for Los Blancos since joining from Stade Rennais, but he lost his prominence in the early stages of this season due to injury. Chelsea have therefore shown interest in signing him.

However, the Spanish giants still consider him an important player and do not want to let him leave. If they are ultimately forced to raise money, they will not want to listen to proposals of less than £70m as the 22-year-old’s current contract runs until 2029.

Camavinga to Chelsea

Camavinga is a left-footed player and Chelsea do not have a left-footed option in the engine room. He is dynamic, technically good, can make passing passes between the lines, is efficient in dribbling past opposition defenders in tight areas, and is also excellent at defensive contributions.

The Frenchman has the necessary physical attributes to thrive in the Premier League. So he would be a huge coup for Chelsea if they were to buy him.

However, it will be interesting to see if the West London club ultimately manages to lure him away from the Estadio Santiago Bernabéu during the upcoming winter transfer window.

In addition to Chelsea, this was also recently reported Manchester United And Liverpool have also expressed their interest in signing the Real Madrid star. So he has no shortage of potential suitors at the moment.
