Chelsea is in advanced conversations with Brighton & Hove Albion to sign the Argentinian younger Facundo Buonanotte for a first loan agreement, as per Fabrizio Romano.

The blues are looking for a different addition to their team after giving up a deal to sign Dutch International Xavi Simons this summer.

They are also strongly connected to Barcelona star Fermin Lopez, but Buonanotte has now emerged as the most likely move to Stamford Bridge before the window closes.

Romano broke an exclusive story Earlier, Chelsea was in conversation to sign Buonanotte from Brighton. Since then he has posted an update stating that the 20-year conditions agreed with Chelsea and accepted their proposal.

The transfer expert says that Chelsea is now in ‘Advanced Talks’ with Brighton to coordinate a deal, whereby the two clubs negotiate the structure of a first loan agreement.

Valued at £ 17 million by Transfer marketThe young person was interested inside and outside England, in particular Roma and Borussia Dortmund, after he had monitored him, but he is now ready to join the blues.

Potential

Brighton-younger Buonanotte spent the 2024-25 season on loan in Leicester City, where he scored six goals and gave three assists in 35 performances in all competitions. He had been in conversation with newly promoted Leeds United during a loan movement to Yorkshire, but the deal fell through, allowing Chelsea to dive into.

In recent years, Chelsea has signed a large number of players from Brighton and cultivated a productive relationship with their colleague Premier League side.

The quartet of Moises Caicedo, Marc Cucurella, Robert Sanchez and Joao Pedro have arrived in Stamford Bridge from the Amex Stadium in recent years and are now all steadfast for the blues. They want to get Buonanotte on a first loan and hope to record an option to buy the deal.

Buonanotte will find it difficult to break into the starting XI under Enzo Maresca. The trio of Cole Palmer, Pedro Neto and Teenage Sensation Estevao are the preferred options of the blues boss as right-sided attacking players and begs the question where Buonanotte would play.

With the threat of a UEFA sanction that looms up over them, Chelsea seems to be financially limited after he agrees to sign Alejandro Garnacho.

This has fueled their pursuit of Buonanotte on a temporary basis, while evaluating their own young people before the following summer. The blues have Kendry Paez and Geovany Quenda play elsewhere, with both 18-year-olds who will return to the club next summer. They will have Buonanotte as a stop-gap option to offer coverage, in particular because of his Premier League experience.
