Chelsea is expected to make an offer for Alejandro Garnaacho before the transfer window closes after performing background checks on the wing player.
Garnacho has been told that he does not stand up in Ruben Amorim’s plans for the new season and explores his options.
Chelsea asked about his availability during the January window and remained enthusiastic. Despite the signing of Jamie Gittens from Borussia Dortmund and the pursuit of a deal for the Xavi Simons of RB Leipzig, the blues are expected to submit a formal proposal for Garnacho in the coming weeks.
According to De TelegraafChelsea has a series of ‘background controls’ on the character of Garnacho and its ‘comfortable’ with the results.
A deal will depend on the valuation of the Manchester United player, which is assumed to be approximately £ 50 million, and whether Chelsea can sufficiently reduce a bloated team. Failers are being sought for Christopher Nunku and Armando Broja, while Marc Guiu and Tyrqiue George will leave on loan. Sunderland is one of the teams who have asked for Guiu.
United wants to release Garnacho while the Red Devils want to collect funds for further things. The club chases a deal for Benjamin Sesko, previously linked to Chelsea, which is valued at around € 75 million (£ 64.8 million) by RB Leipzig. United also wants to sign a keeper and defensive midfielder this summer.
Chelsea’s approach for Garnacho can come in the window later, as soon as the image with regard to squad figures becomes clearer. There is also optimism that his price tag could fall as United seems to be discharged before the September deadline.
Aston Villa is also connected to Garnacho, who wants to stay in the Premier League. The PSR situation of Villa has improved by the sale of their women’s team, although Chelsea is considered the preferred destination of the wing player.
