Chelsea could reportedly sign Real Madrid midfielder Eduardo Camavinga in a sensational swap deal, according to Spanish newspaper Transfers.
Since moving to Stamford Bridge from SL Benfica in 2023, Enzo Fernández has established himself as an undisputed starter. He scored 22 goals in 46 games in all competitions last season. In addition, he led his team to win the Club World Cup and the Conference League.

This season, the 25-year-old continued to put in impressive performances, scoring 11 goals and registering four assists in 36 appearances across all tournaments.
Fernandez has proven his worth in club football and has also shown his qualities at international level for the Argentina national team, helping his country win the World Cup and the Copa America.
Now, Transfers states that Real Madrid are keen to strengthen their midfield and have identified Fernandez as a serious option after being impressed by his recent standout performances for club and country.
With the South American’s current contract running until 2032, Chelsea are in no rush to sell him and have slapped a whopping £104million price tag on his head to keep the vultures at bay.
Los Blancos do not want to sign the midfielder by matching Chelsea’s price tag, but they are willing to offer Camavinga in a swap deal plus £52m cash to convince Liam Rosenior’s side to let him leave.
Camavinga to Chelsea
However, the report states that Chelsea are not convinced by the proposal and are only willing to agree to the departure of their star player if Real Madrid fully meets the asking price.
Camavinga is a versatile left-footed player, as he is a natural defensive midfielder and is also comfortable in the box-to-box role. Furthermore, he can provide cover in the left back position if necessary.
However, Camavinga, valued at around £43 million by Transfer marketis not a similar type of player to Fernandez and has struggled with fitness issues in recent years, meaning he has made just eight appearances in La Liga so far this season.
So Chelsea would be better off keeping Fernández rather than signing Camavinga as part of a swap deal. Nevertheless, it will be interesting to see whether the West London club ultimately chooses to sign the France international next summer.
