Real Madrid star Endrick has that only appeared once for the team in all competitions so far this season, an eleventh-minute cameo against Valencia a few weeks ago after struggling amid competition from a number of superstars in the squad.
His loan move in January is emerging as a very realistic prospect, with the player not only looking to get regular minutes but also to have one eye on the World Cup next summer as he hopes to find a place in the Brazil set-up under Carlo Ancelotti.
According to BuitenspelChelsea are looking to give Endrick’s career a lifeline this winter and it’s no surprise as they have recently invested in several young players from around the world, not least talent from South America.
Whether they plan to loan him out or are willing to buy him permanently remains to be seen, but in recent weeks the 19-year-old has made progress towards a loan move at Olympique Lyon in January for the remainder of the 2025/2026 season.
Lyon in pole position for Endrick
Endrick’s main motive for leaving Real Madrid in January is to pursue regular playing time in January, and both the player and the club will want him to join a club where he will be exposed to minutes on a consistent basis.
Chelsea already have a lot of quality at the top, with the likes of Joao Pedro, Liam Delap and Marc Guiu in their squad, so Endrick may not be so inclined to join them as he faces the same problem he did in Madrid.
Olympique Lyon appear to be in a good position to sign the teenager from Real Madrid in a matter of weeks, with agreements said to have already been reached between all involved after Endrick was convinced of the opportunity in France.
