Against all expectations, Manchester United won 1-0 against Newcastle at Old Trafford on Boxing Day.
Ruben Amorim had a severely depleted squad to choose from, and as a result he was forced to go with Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte in the middle of the park.

“Manchester United need all the players they have at their disposal. We have linked players like Ruben Neves and James Garner to them, but I am not aware of anything concrete on that front.”
Amorim has made it quite clear that he wants players he can use in the long term rather than short-term deals.
It will be interesting to see if INEOS can close even one deal during the winter period.
