Sheffield United Academy graduate Andre Brooks is in the interest of Club Brugge Sacha Tavolieri.

There isn’t much for Sheffield United fans to cheer about so far this season in the Championship. Despite having a squad full of quality and plenty of experience, SUFC currently sit in 17th place, six points above the relegation zone.

Outside of The return of Chris Wilder for the club, there haven’t been many positives for Blades fans this season, but one of them has been the performance of Andre Brooks. The 22-year-old came through the academy and has cemented himself as a senior player.

However, it is now reported that Brooks is attracting interest from abroad.

According to him, the Belgian Pro League club Club Brugge is keeping an eye on the Sheffield United player Sacha Tavolieri. They’ve gotten closer as they view Brooks as a backup to former Carlos Forbs, making an approach.

Why Sheffield United don’t want to lose David Brooks

Sheffield United FC News

While Sheffield United may be tempted to sell Brooks if they get good money from Club Brugge, who have just made it through to the Champions League play-offs, they simply cannot afford to sell given their current position in the Championship.

Brooks has become an increasingly influential part of Wilder’s side. If they decide to sell, SUFC would be in need of a replacement, with little time left until Monday’s transfer deadline at 7pm.

Not only this, but at his young age, Brooks still has plenty of time to develop. He has more to offer in red and white and he could go for a higher amount in the future.

After their miserable start to the season under Ruben Selles, SUFC were only going one way. However, following Wilder’s reappointment, results and performances have been a lot better, so after changing marginal players, keeping the core of this squad feels crucial.

Andre Brooks’ stats for Sheffield United

Sheffield United’s transfer window so far

Despite still not sitting comfortably above the relegation places, Sheffield United have had a fairly quiet and slow transfer window so far.

Wilder has just made one addition to his squad, albeit a very good one Ki-Jana Hoever hired from Wolves. He will certainly want more income to take the championship to the next level in 2026.

There have been departures. Ben Godfrey and Louie Barry’s loans were terminated, while Ryan One secured a loan move to Lincoln City and Nils Zatterstrom joined Genoa.

With more additions hopefully to follow, SUFC will be keen to retain their key assets. Despite the high interest, Brooks could be keeping watch for the next few days.
