On Tuesday, the Indian government supported the use of E20-mixed gasoline (gasoline mixed with 20% ethanol) after claiming that the practice is reduced the mileage of vehicles. In a detailed statement, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural gas quoted a Niti Aayog research and said that E20 Benzine offers a series of important benefits. This comes days after Minister Van Unie Nitin Gadkari stated that there was no merit to argue that E20-Mixed fuel influenced the mileage of cars.
In his explanation, the petroleum ministery said that E20 Benzine offers better acceleration and improved rich quality. It also benefits the farmers of the country by increasing their income, and results in approximately 30 percent lower carbon emissions compared to E10 fuel. The ministry has also rejected claims against E20 gasoline as ‘misplaced’, adding that the vehicle kilometer stand is influenced by a series of factors that are outside the fuel type.
The Ministry also mentioned the claims as “unfounded” and said, “This anxiety is completely unfounded and was clarified by an insurance company whose tweet -screenshot was deliberately misinterpreted to create fear and confusion.” The Ministry also clarified the fear that India will now go very quickly than the 20% ethanollimite. “Every movement beyond E-20 requires careful calibration, for which an extensive consultation is underway,” said it.
