Cricketer Michael Clarke is trying to sell a house in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Cricketer Michael Clarke, model Jen Hawkins and TV presenter Jamie Durie are among the celebrities hoping to close property deals in the new year after failing to sell homes in Sydney during a heady 2025.

These celebrities’ wait for a buyer followed what would otherwise have been a big year of property moves among Australia’s rich and famous.

When the market picked up in early 2025 after the interest rate cuts, there were numerous celebrities who made money selling or purchasing real estate during the year.

The couple bought the property with rolling lawns down to Avoca Lake for $6 million in 2021, and settled in a year later. Obviously they are currently renting nearby.

The Scenic Highway property for sale comes with an empty seven-bedroom Old English-style mansion, one of the few that backs onto the water.

The local rumor was that they planned to demolish the house and build something new. There has been no approval for the development.

Hawkins’ failed sale follows ongoing drama surrounding her other high-profile property in Whale Beach.

The oceanfront property has been under construction for four years, causing unrest among wealthy neighbors who have sold their homes en masse to escape the Hawkins megaproject.

Michael Clarke

Australian cricket legend Michael Clarke has listed his Vaucluse mansion with expectations of more than $20 million, but is yet to offload the house.

Clarke’s house in Vaucluse is still for sale.

Clarke is selling the five-bedroom home, purchased for $13.01 million in 2021, after buying a larger six-bedroom mansion with a tennis court and pool nearby for around $20 million.

Agent Bill Malouf, who is managing the listing with Emma Potter, expects a strong response for Clarke’s current home, which has undergone a renovation since he bought it.

Clarke sold his former marital home with ex-wife Kyly in 2021 for $12 million.

Jamie Durie

Renowned landscaper and television personality Jamie Durie is still selling his carefully crafted Avalon eco-compound after launching it on the market in 2025.

Durie’s sustainable retreat on Sydney’s northern beaches has a guide price of $33 million.

Durie is selling after deciding to move to a 30-hectare farm in the Byron Bay hinterland with his partner Ameka and their children.

He acquired the approximately 1,000-square-foot Avalon Beach property in 2015 for about $2.3 million, then transformed what was once a modest 1960s cottage into a six-bedroom, multi-story retreat with an “Enviroswim” pool.

BIG FAMOUS MOVES LAST YEAR

Sonia Kruger

The TV presenter landed one of the biggest celebrity deals of 2025 when she and husband Craig McPherson made $19 million from the sale of their Mosman home.

The couple is said to have spent $16.1 million on a nearby defunct waterfront estate. Their new home was described in the ad as a “blank canvas,” indicating there is room for renovation or rebuilding.

Kruger has been based in Mosman for ten years. Her new premises are in a prime location on the Balmoral slopes overlooking the breakwaters.

Pat Cummins

Australian cricket captain Pat Cummins, who will be rested for the final Ashes clash with England, settled in a two-storey house in Bronte built in 1888 in 2025 for $16 million.

The five-bedroom, four-bathroom, 730-square-foot home, which was reportedly in need of renovations, was bought off the market in November 2024 but didn’t settle until well into 2025.

Cummins currently lives nearby in another five-bedroom Victorian mansion that he bought for $9.3 million in 2021. He also owns a three-bedroom 1930s Southern Highlands cottage purchased for $905,000.

Red Wobbler Simon Pryce

Red Wiggle Simon Pryce and the wife of fitness entrepreneur Lauren Hannaford have moved from Clovelly, where they previously sold for $2.52 million, to a $5.7 million property in Maroubra.

The mid-1970s Maroubra home has been reinvented with a Stubbs Design Tribe renovation. It has a 25-foot “floating” heated pool plus a spa, five bedrooms, a media room and a four-car garage.

Their previous home, a 1970s Clovelly unit, had been bought by Pryce for $860,000 in 2011, two years before he became the Red Wiggle.

Lisa Wilkinson

Media couple Lisa Wilkinson and Peter FitzSimons sold a house in Cremorne in late 2025 after downsizing to a nearby apartment.

Lisa Wilkinson and Peter FitzSimons listed their home in Cremorne, Ingleneuk.

The sale took place after the property went up for auction in September. The undisclosed price would have been lower than the seller’s bid at auction of $24.5 million.

The couple had owned the 1903 home since 1998, when they paid just under $3 million. They increased the area of the land by acquiring adjacent plots of land. It is understood that the 3,125 square meter estate had become redundant for their needs after their three children moved out.

Rebel Wilson

Actor Rebel Wilson sold an investment in Balmain in September for $2.15 million, $270,000 more than the price she paid a decade ago, records showed.

It is understood Wilson gave the 1,300 sq ft unit a high-end renovation after purchasing the property in 2015 and it is not known whether she made a profit from the sale, taking into account taxes and other costs.

Wilson had lived in the unit during the renovation of her former waterfront property in Birchgrove overlooking the Parramatta River, which she sold for $9.5 million in 2022.

Nick Kyrgios

Tennis player Nick Kyrgios sold a three-bedroom getaway in Sydney for $1,925,000. He had paid $1.6 million for the Kensington estate in 2016.

Kyrgios sold a unit in Kensington.

The tennis player bought the device according to plan.

Kyrgios had the kitchen renovated, laid a new floor and given it a new lick of paint.

The 130 square meter Anzac Parade offering, with two parking spaces, was marketed as a “luxury sky home”.

Nathan Cleary

NRL star Nathan Cleary has sold an investment property in Penrith for $660,000.

The 1,000-square-foot, two-bedroom Aviators Way apartment, close to Penrith Station, had been a rental property. Cleary purchased the unit off-plan in 2016, two years before its completion.

Cleary had owned a property in this Penrith complex.

NRL Final Media Opportunity

Cleary has completed a renovation on a house in Western Sydney.

Cleary has owned the West since 2018, when, after signing a five-year contract extension with the Panthers, he spent $1.05 million on a renovated 1970s home just a few days after his 21st birthday.

He called that house until two years ago, when there was an internal transfer of the family home into his name, valued at $1.7 million.

Kyle Sandilands

Radio king Kyle Sandilands settled in 2025 on a ‘fixer upper’ holiday home he bought with his wife Tegan Kyaston on the Central Coast.

He also began renovating a farm he has as a weekend retreat in Sydney’s north-western suburbs.

Sandilands bought the Central Coast home overlooking Copacabana Beach for $1.8 million. The ad described it as “drenched in sunlight and positioned to maximize views”.

Vaucluse-based Sandilands confirmed on radio that he was renovating his farm in Glenorie after being spotted in the area at a local bakery.

KIIS FM’s Kyle Sandilands has spoken about the renovation work on his Glenorie purchase.

The all-white, eight-bedroom home was purchased for $3 million in 2022.

Ian Thorpe

Olympic swimming legend Ian Thorpe sold an Edgecliff apartment above its guide price of $2.8 million.

The price for the stylish three-bedroom apartment in the Harry Seidler-designed Arlington block has not been disclosed, but sources estimate the result at “nearly $3 million”.

Thorpe had purchased it for $2.79 million in July 2023. He still owns a four-bedroom apartment nearby, purchased in December 2017 for $2.75 million.
