The San Antonio Spurs outlasted the Dallas Mavericks 138-125 to earn their fourth straight victory on Saturday night.

Stephon Castle led the Spurs with a career-high 40 points, 12 rebounds and 12 assists, making it his second career triple-double.

Devin Vassell added 17 points and Victor Wembanyama had 16 points and 11 rebounds for the Spurs, who tied a season high for points in a half with 81 before halftime.

The Spurs won nine in twelve games to remain second in the Western Conference.

On the other end, Klay Thompson scored 19 points, Brandon Williams added 18, Max Christie 17 and Cooper Flagg with 14 points.

Castle joins Hall of Famer David Robinson as the only Spurs in franchise history with a 40-point triple-double.

The sophomore guard had a triple-double by following up a miss with a windmill dunk, giving the Spurs a 129-108 lead with 6:26 left.

Castle’s first triple-double came on November 12, 2025, against the Golden State Warriors, when he had 23 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in a 125–120 loss.

Meanwhile, Marvin Bagley III, AJ Johnson and Tyus Jones all debuted for Dallas. Bagley and Johnson were acquired in a trade that sent Anthony Davis to Washington, and Jones was part of a subsequent deal with Charlotte for Malaki Branham.

Both teams will face off against each other on Tuesday evening: the Mavericks at Phoenix, while the Spurs at the Los Angeles Lakers.
