Manchester United will take on Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon hoping to secure a win and move up to third place.

Following our 1-0 away win at Goodison Park, Michael Carrick reflected on the scrappy match in which we left with three points in an interview with MUTV.

To create consistency in results, there will be times in the season when you play really well and you have to capitalize on that, and then there will be times when things might not come so easily. Sometimes it’s a little more satisfying to win when things don’t come so easily. It feels like you really have to earn it and dig deep, and the guys had to do that. Thanks to Everton, I thought they played very well and made it difficult for us. I never had an easy game at Everton. The boys did what they had to do and find a way.

Carrick is happy to be playing in front of a home crowd this weekend and realizes the huge impact the relationship between players and fans has on our performances.

[Let’s] keep that momentum, keep that atmosphere. I have to say the away fans were incredible again last night, but to be back home and feel that love, support and energy [will be great]. Hopefully everyone comes with a good feeling and makes a lot of noise.

We have that connection because it’s been great to see these past few weeks. We have to keep building on that and keep pushing. There are big matches coming up, this is as important as ever, so everyone has to be ready.
