The Slovenian international came off the bench to score the only goal of the match at the Hill Dickinson Stadium on Monday evening, putting the Red Devils back into the top four of the Premier League.
Sesko endured a difficult start to life at Old Trafford following his £74million transfer from RB Leipzig. It took him nine games to find the net, but he has now scored six goals in his last eight appearances.
Michael Carrick backs Benjamin Sesko to become a ‘big player’ for Man Utd
Despite his exceptional form in front of goal recently, he has not started any of the last five games for Man Utd. Carrick says the forward will need to be patient as he develops his game but believes he has a bright future ahead of him.
“He’s in a good place at the moment,” he told Sky Sports after the final whistle. “We had very good conversations about it. Patience is one thing from him. Waiting and developing as a player here.”
“He understands that. He will be a big player for us for a long time, I’m sure. We have to get that done. We have some top strikers. He has made a big difference for us when he is on the pitch.”
