HOW TO MAKE CARNIVORE EGG FOO YOUNG (PURE PROTEIN EGG FOO YOUNG)

To make my Protein Packed Egg Foo Young, I used Further Food gelatin!

I love adding gelatin to recipes for the added health benefit! Both gelatin and collagen help our skin, hair and nails. What’s not to like about that?

Further food gelatin is a high-quality, grass-fed protein source that goes beyond basic nutrition to provide functional benefits for joints, skin, gut health and overall well-being.

🧬 Nutritional base

  • Pure protein source: Almost 100% protein, consisting of amino acids such as glycine, proline and hydroxyproline.

  • No carbs or fat: Fits perfectly into a keto, paleo and low-carb lifestyle.

  • Can reduce stiffness, pain and discomfort in joints.

  • Works synergistically with vitamin C to increase collagen synthesis in tendons and ligaments.

📚 Clark et al., 2008 – Gelatin plus vitamin C before exercise stimulated collagen synthesis, improving joint resilience.

🦴 Benefits of gut healing

  • Glycine and glutamine help heals and closes the intestinal wallwhich reduces intestinal permeability (“leaky gut”).

  • Supports healthy stomach acid levels for digestion.

  • Has a soothing effect on the gastrointestinal tract, making it useful in digestive healing protocols.

📚 van Wijck et al., 2011 – Glutamine and related amino acids protect against intestinal permeability during stress.

Skin, hair and nail support

  • Increases collagen production and improves elasticity, hydration and resilience of skin.

  • Strengthens hair and nails from within.

  • Helps slow down the visible signs of aging.

📚 Proksch et al., 2014 – Collagen supplementation improved skin hydration and elasticity in just 8 weeks.

😴 Sleep and mood

  • Glycine in gelatin has calming effects on the nervous system.

  • Can improve sleep quality and reduce fatigue.

  • Supports the balance of neurotransmitters, which can help with mild anxiety and stress.

📚 Yamadera et al., 2007 – Glycine supplementation improved subjective sleep quality and reduced daytime sleepiness.

🍽 Practical applications

  • Cooking and baking: Adds protein and creates a gel-like consistency in the sauce for my egg foo young, gummies, puddings or soups.

  • Digestive soothing: Mixed into warm tea or broth for gut healing effects.

  • Snacks: Ideal for homemade protein gummies, marshmallows and desserts.

In short:
Furthermore, food gelatin is a functional protein powder that supports health of joints, skin, intestines and sleep. Unlike regular protein powders, it also provides… culinary versatilitymaking it easy to transform everyday recipes into healing, protein-rich foods.

  • To make the sauce: Combine the chicken stock, tamari, hot sauce, ¼ tablespoon grated ginger, and stevia (if using) in a small saucepan. Beat in the gelatin. Heat over medium heat until the sauce boils and has reduced slightly 5-10 minutes. Taste and adjust seasonings as desired; add more sweetness or ginger.

  • Beat the egg whites in a large bowl. Stir in the deli meat, mushrooms, green onions, ¾ tablespoon of grated ginger, and garlic. Season with salt and pepper. If necessary, add the creatine from the other food.

  • Spray a large skillet with coconut oil spray and heat over medium heat.

  • Using a measuring cup or large spoon, spoon 1/2 cup of the egg mixture into the skillet. Cook the omelette until golden brown, 2 to 3 minutesthen turn over and cook for another 2 to 3 minutes. Remove from the pan and set aside. Repeat with the remaining egg mixture, spraying the skillet with coconut oil spray between batches.

  • To serve, place 2 puffed omelettes on each plate and top with 3 tablespoons of sauce (or more if you like sauce like me!).

  • Omelettes are best served fresh, but extras can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. To reheat, lightly coat a skillet with coconut oil spray and place over medium heat. Place the omelette in the frying pan and heat it 2 minutes on each side, or until warm.

Doesn’t Dana look AMAZING? In just MONTHS she lost 87 pounds and stopped taking medications 💪💪💪

“I would like to take a moment to thank Maria Emmerich and Craig Emmerich for their dedication to this lifestyle. I have been following them since 2016. In November 2022, I was diagnosed with T2 after being hospitalized with BS of 381 after contracting Covid. I struggled with high BS for over a year with metformin, glipizide and 10 units of insulin at bedtime. I did low carb and nothing worked. I finally got serious and dove in in old videos and their I had the ‘head knowledge’ again, but never had the determination to stick with it. Yes, I would lose weight, but slide off the wagon and gain back what I lost and more.

I started Maria’s plan in earnest about 8 months ago because I was determined to get off these medications that I knew would ultimately make things worse. Then in July 2023 my husband had a heart attack. I watched my husband being told by his cardiologist to eat whole grains, low fat and watch his calorie intake, but I didn’t give up. I knew deep in my heart that this is the right plan!

In the 8 months I have lost 87 pounds and my BS is now down to 150 pounds. (Still working on it) It works for me and I am now off a few medications. I don’t like taking medications. That’s my goal. I have 13 pounds to reach my first goal of 100 pounds. This is now my new way of life. My husband is doing well, and a few days ago he told me he wants to go keto now too! Thanks again Maria and Craig for all you do…always encouraging, always supportive, and always educational! ❤️” – Dana
