Carlos Rodón was solid as a pitcher and less solid as a field player.
It contributed to a start that was solid enough for the Yankees to play again on Thursday.
The Yankees-Lefty was accused of three points on four hits and three walks in six-plus moving innings, which handed the ball to a bull pen that would not be touched in what a 4-3, game 2-nagel biter about the Red Sox in the Bronx on Wednesday would be.
“Absolutely a struggle,” Rodón said after he helped the Yankees to force a decisive game 3 of the Wild-Card series. “They have stretched some good battles together, but we had a number of great turns defensively.”
Several beautiful plays were made behind Yankees -owerers, but Rodón chose a tough time to record his first mistake since 2021.
With the Yankees in front with 2-0 in the third, Boston Lopers put first and second without drawing a Nick Sogard Bunt. Rodón spoke in the direction of the third Hunklijn and fired a ground ball on Jazz Chisholm Jr., who first covered and had to come from the base to ensure that the drilt ball did not go into the error area.
Rodón did well to turn Rob Refnyder with the bases full, but the single by Trevor Story Up the Middle scored two and bonded the game.
The third-year Yankee settled during an outing in which he shifted six and threw 91 lashes, especially since the Red Sox used six relief arms in what ended as a bullpen game and moisture by Red SOX stroke people and Aaron Boone in the sixth.
In the frame, Rodón served a no-doubter to the story that the Bond and Fernando Cruz game encouraged to start warming up. After Rodón Alex Bregman had walked on four throws, Boone approached the hill but did not signal for Cruz.
“I have been playing under Boone for three years now, I get an idea of the attitude when he walks away,” said Rodón. “Sometimes he makes a decision asked, he points out. But when I saw that he crossed the border and did not raise his arm, I knew I had a chance of a reply.”

The refutation: “I stay in,” said Rodón, who then forced Romy Gonzalez to stand out and Carlos Narváez to ground the ball to Ryan McMahon, who started a handy doubles.
On this night, Rodón needed some help-in particular from Cruz, who then saved him from a seventh-aftering jam, and from Austin Wells, whose goad-ahead RBI Single took care of the last run in the eighth.
“Go away with a victory, so I’m looking forward to tomorrow,” said Rodón.
