UFC sensation Carlos Prates has explained why he prefers Craig Jones as his coach over Khabib Nurmagomedov.
It’s safe to say that Carlos Prates is quite a popular man in the world of mixed martial arts. While he may not be in title contention at the moment, he’s an exciting guy who is always just one or two big wins away from a shot at the gold. In his most recent outing, he knocked out Geoff Neal, making a real statement after the defeat to Ian Machado Garry, which could easily have been a win if he had worked a little longer.
As we know, Carlos Prates likes to drink, he likes to smoke, and he is not like the stereotypical athlete. He wants to live by his own rules, and it’s hard not to enjoy watching the ride. That said, he faces an incredibly tough test tomorrow night in the form of a clash with Leon Edwards, who, as we know, is a former UFC welterweight champion and one of the most accurate strikers in the entire welterweight division.
During a recent rapid-fire interviewCarlos Prates was asked if he would rather have Craig Jones or Khabib Nurmagomedov as his coach.
Carlos Prates about Craig Jones or Khabib Nurmagomedov as his coach
I think Craig Jones, because he lets me go to the party and smoke. If I train with Khabib, I think he’s going to break my video game, not let me smoke, and not let me go to the party. Of course it would be very nice to train with Khabib.”
Sure, he might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but you can bet he’ll go out there and try to put on a show for the fans every time.
