It was just like old times for the Astros in Yankee Stadium.

With the game on the line, Carlos Correa rode in Jose Altuve from second base to lead the bottom of the 10th, while the Astros defeated the Yankees 5-3 in 10 innings.

And although it was Correa that on Friday for the first time since 2021 returned to the Bronx with the Astros, it was Alantuve who remained public enemy no. 1, as evidenced by the reception of the Yankee Stadium Faithful.

The two stars of the Signstealing Scandal-Tarished 2017 World Series Championship team have been reunited, while the Astros try to return to the late season.

Altuve Homde in the first to lead Houston and then scored the winning point in the 10th.

“If you are at this stage, it’s just different and he takes it to a different gear,” said Correa. “I feel that he thrives in such situations. I have seen it for so many years. When I am the fans, I stop [booing]. When I am a fan, I try to make it feel as spring training. ”

Altuve pulled loud anger when his name was announced during the game, while the reaction to Correa was more subject for most of the game-even after the go-ahead hit of Correa.

“I didn’t think they kept me so well,” said Correa. “They spoke more to me when I was at Minnesota. I think it’s because Altuve gets all the attention.”

Correa did not really escape the spotlight during his three-plus seasons in Minnesota, but the twin does not do much to pull the wrath of the Bronx like the hated astros, which the Yankees hit in the ALCs in both 2017 and 2019, as well as in 2022, after Correa’s departure for Minnesota.

The duo of Altuve and Correa was such a big reason as every why the Yankees came to the short end of both series.

And the Yankees have done nothing with even the rivalry between the two teams between October, regardless of who is in both selection.

Yet there is something about the weather together with Correa, 30.

“It’s interesting to see,” said Gerrit Cole about Correa’s competition. “It fits well. He knows the city and the team well.”

Cole spent 2018 and 2019 with the Astros before signing his record -breaking deal with the Yankees for the 2020 season.

“He and Jose are best friends,” said Cole. “They both have great baseball spirits. The group they had down there was really sharp.”

Some would say too sharp.

Even without Correa they won the World Series in 2022-after the elimination of the Yankees reaches the ALCS in 2023 before they were eliminated in the WildcardRonde last season. Correa only made one playoff appearance with the twins and they could not get through the wildcart round in 2023.

After a mediocre first half of the season with Minnesota with an OPS of .704 prior to the Trade Correa on Friday in a hot streak, 9-from-222 with three extra basehits about his previous five games.
