Carlos Alcaraz started his season by going ‘full throttle’ at the Australian Open in January, where he lifted the trophy and became the youngest man to complete the Career Grand Slam.
On Thursday, the number 1 player in the PIF ATP rankings visited a number of Spanish sports stars who are also looking to start their respective 2026 seasons in style. Alcaraz overtook Fernando Alonso and Carlos Sainz as the duo took part in F1’s pre-season testing in Bahrain.

Alcaraz is an avid motorsport fan and has long been a strong supporter of both Alonso, two-time winner of the Formula 1 World Drivers’ Championship, and Sainz. He posed for photos with both drivers, who are also hoping for a magical moment in Melbourne to start the year: the 2026 F1 season kicks off in the city with the Australian Grand Prix on March 8.
The 22-year-old Alcaraz is in the Middle East for next week’s Qatar ExxonMobil Open in Doha, where he will compete as the top seed. He will be joined in the field in the Qatari capital by his great Lexus ATP Head2Head rival, world number 2, Jannik Sinner.
