A car is rammed against a crowd of people who waited to enter a nightclub on a busy boulevard in Los Angeles, in which at least 30 people were injured.
The Los Angeles fire brigade said on Saturday that the incident had left at least three people in critical condition.
Another eight to 10 people were in a serious condition and between 10 and 15 victims were in reasonable condition, the department said.
According to Captain Adam van Gerpen, the Public Information Officer for the Los Angeles City fire brigade, victims were transported to local hospitals and trauma centers.
Videos placed on X showed roads that were closed and patients were removed in ambulances.
The incident happened just before 2 a.m., local time, the fire brigade said.
Mr Van Gerpen told us ABC that a line of people – the majority of the woman – waited to enter a nightclub when they were hit by a vehicle that also hit a taco truck and a valet position.
He said paramedics discovered that one of the patients had a shot wound.
“This is under police investigation,” he said.
“This will be a big examination with the LAPD [Los Angeles Police Department]”.
People in the club came out to help the victims in the minutes before emergency staff arrived, he said.
“They all stood in line and went into a nightclub. There was a taco -car there, so they were … some food, waiting to go inside. And there is also a valet line there,” he said.
“The Valet stage was eliminated, the Taco truck was switched off and then a large number of people were hit by the vehicle.”
Authorities did not provide immediate details about the cause of the incident or identity of the driver.
