New Delhi: Capital and Singapore is selling an industrial unit in Chennai that is rented to Pegatron, one of the largest suppliers of Apple, said two people of the development.

The rented property of 750,000 m² is expected to pick up almost ‘600 crore. Brookfield, Hines and Hillhouse Capital are among the nominated bidders.

Capital and seeks approval from the Rebidding Council.

“It has a long-term lease and has a considerable value because Apple products are manufactured there. The Capital and Board has also been reassessed by the process after receiving the first round of bids. Although worldwide companies have shown interest, the decision about the reconstruction still has to be taken,” said one of the persons cited above.

Sources from the industry said that 750,000 iPhones from this facility were made, including some renovation.

“It is a very high-end industrial facility and one of the largest for the production of iPhones in India,” the director said.

Capitaland, Hines and Brookfield refused to comment. Hillhouse did not respond to the E -Mailquery.

Earlier this year, Tech -Gigant Apple reigned freight flights to blur 600 tonnes of iPhones, or no less than 1.5 million units, to the US from India after it had increased production there in an attempt to get the rates of President Donald Trump.

Tata Electronics recently acquired a 60% majority in the Indian unit of Pegatron, Pegatron Technology India. The acquisition includes the iPhone assembly factory of Pegatron in Tamil Nadu.

The survey of real estate Cushman & Wakefield points out that 88% of manufacturers are scaling up because of the trust guided by infrastructure and more than 95% reporting improved logistical access through programs with the government.

The study showed that a great optimism with regard to the impact of the government -guided infrastructure initiatives such as Bharatmala, Sagarmala, special freight corridors and national industrial corridor development.
