Vilmer Alriksson and Jimmy Schuldt returned to the line-up after missing yesterday’s match, while Ty Young got the start between the pipes, opposite Jesper Vikman for Henderson.
The Silver Knights struck first again when Ben Hemmerling took advantage of a breakaway eight minutes later and went top of the order to make it 1-0. The Canucks fought to even things out and got their chance late in the frame. On the power play, Joseph LaBate tipped in a Ben Berard shot to tie the game at 1-1 heading into intermission.

Special teams were the story of the second period. About seven minutes later, the Canucks took their first lead as Schuldt, Berard and LaBate recreated their previous power play lineup – and LaBate buried his second of the night to make it 2-1. But Henderson quickly responded on the strength of their own man advantage, as Raphael Lavoie converted to level matters at 2-2. The Knights continued to apply the pressure, and with just three minutes left, Jackson Hallum slipped one past Young to give Henderson a 3-2 lead heading into the third.
The Silver Knights carried that momentum into the final frame. Mitch McLain extended their lead early by clearing a rebound in front, before Jeremy Davis delivered another home backhand midway through the period to make it 5-2. Tuomas Uronen added a sixth goal shortly afterwards, and a late penalty against Abbotsford allowed Lukas Cormier to make it 7-2 on the power play. Ben Berard was able to get one back in the final seconds, but it wasn’t enough as the Canucks fell 7-3.
With this match, Abbotsford wraps up their opening six-game series and now heads on the road to face the Colorado Eagles next weekend.
