Days after receiving his appointment letter from the Minister of the Interior Amit Shah, a newly recruited agent in Uttar Pradesh decided that he had had enough of the police life. The reason? He couldn’t wake up for training at 4 o’clock because he was used to sleeping until 8 o’clock.
On the fifth day of his training, the agent, accompanied by his father, marched the office of the superintendent of the police (SP) in Deoria to put in his papers. At the office he asked for a meeting with SP Vikrant Veer.
When he was asked about the reason, the agent frankly told the Public Relations Officer (Pro) Dr. Mahendra Kumar from the SP, that he was not used to waking up early in the morning. The recruit said he was in the habit of sleeping until 8 hours, and the rigorous training during the day turned out to be too difficult for him.
‘Holds B.ED, Want to become a teacher’
His father said his son, who achieved a B.ed degree, wanted to become a teacher and is used to studying all day. He said that the physical hardships of police training didn’t excite much to him.
After a counseling session by Dr. Mahendra, however, De Jonge Recruut eventually had a change in heart.
The Pro underlined that such teething problems were of course in training sessions and things would gradually become manageable.
After a long discussion, the agent decided not to continue his resignation and left the office without the SP.
The recruitment process of the police of Uttar Pradesh Police Constable was completed earlier this month. Training has started throughout the state.
On 15 June Minister of the Interior, Amit Shah, distributed appointment letters to the newly selected agents in Luckknow in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
In Deoria the new recruits follow a joint training (JTC). After completing a month of training, they are sent to other centers for an advanced nine -month training session, after which they receive official messages.
