Canada: Masters World Cup – The intention to register

Athletes encouraged to show interest before 2026 Masters World Cup

Seven teams proudly represented Canada at the Masters World Cup 2024 in Auckland, New Zealand – Four ladies teams (more than 50, 55, 60 and 65) and three men’s teams (more than 45, 50 and 60). It was a great experience, and now we hope to send more teams to the 2026 Masters World Cup!

The World Cup Masters 2026 is planned for the summer of 2026 at different locations and dates, depending on age categories:

Tournament 4 (O65- O80 Men)

The intention to register

If you want to take into account to select for Canada, fill your The intention to register By October 4, 2025.

At this early stage your “intention” would include:

  1. Presence on a selection camp or
  2. Video submission for those who cannot be present personally.

The registration costs of $ 200.00 cannot be refunded, unless a person has registered for an age group where there are not enough athletes to form a team. The FHC Masters Committee will then be eligible to assess and confirm the eligible.

Most important dates:

Selection of athlete – Selection camps are expected to be held as follows:

  • BC, Lower Mainland – Thanksgiving Weekend (men); October 11 (women) times and location TBC
  • BC, Lower Mainland – Family Day Weekend (February 2026 Women) Times and location TBC
  • BC, Lower Mainland – Easter weekend (April 2026 Men) Times and location TBC
  • BC, Duncan (women only) – October 12 TBC
  • BC, Duncan (women only) – Family Day Weekend 2026 times TBC
  • Ab, Calgary – TBC
  • ON – TBC

Course – Training events will be organized in the coming 11 months by the age group coordinators (AGCs), team managers and coaches in an individual age group and/or team base.

Training events for women can include participation in the following:

  • The Pat Hall Master’s Tournament Held on Vancouver Island Over – 3-5 April 2026
  • The Vancouver International Tournament (VIT) held in Burnaby, BC during the Victoria Day Long Weekend – 16-18 May 2026

** Athletes who are unable to attend selection camps personally are asked to send in video images that emphasize important selection criteria, together with references from coaches.

The selection process follows it Masters selection policy.

Additional training and/or selection events of athlete can be organized on an individual age group and/or team base. Everything will be made to record and accommodate athletes from all over Canada.

FHC Masters Hockey is a fully self -financed program. The costs of athlete include: travel costs, purchase of uniform/clothing, peat rental, tournament access costs, FHC administration costs and other program -related costs. Athletes also contribute to covering the costs of Tour employees (coaches, managers, physiotherapists).

Estimated participation costs for this event:

Flights: $ 1,800

Accommodations: $ 1,300 (double occupation) – $ 2,000 (single occupation)

Levents and Uniforms: $ 2,500 (based on a selection of 16)

Total estimated costs: $ 5,600 – $ 6,300

The final costs are confirmed if teams are defined and training schedules are confirmed.

Note: The above costs do not include all associated costs to attend selection/training events.
