Expression of interest in coaches for the 2026 Masters Outdoor World Cup

Veldhockey Canada looking for national coaches for the 2026 Masters World Cup Will be held in the summer of 2026.

Canada strives to send men’s and women’s master teams in the 35+ to 65+ age categories. We are looking for coaches for these potential teams. These are volunteer positions.

Field Hockey Canada is the national sports board that is responsible for the development, growth and promotion of Veldhockey in Canada. Under his responsibilities, and in collaboration with the FHC Masters Committee and coordinators of the age group, FHC helps help with selecting, preparing and promoting the teams from Canada to the goal of delivering sustainable stage performance in World Masters Hockey competitions.

The Master’s program of FHC is itself financed by athletes selected for WMH Continental and World Cup teams. The costs of the coach of national and international air rates, accommodation at the event and one per day will be covered from the contributions of players (Amounts can be covered). In addition, coaches are paid for a fee for practices, events and tournaments. The successful applicants are expected to select, develop and coach their team in the run -up to the 2026 Masters World Cup.

The coaching positions start in September 2025 with some follow -up after completing the Masters World Cup 2026.

Coach managements include:

  • Supervision of an outdoor, systematic, progressive training program for masterathletes (including mindset/outdooractical awareness, development of skills and fitness assessment) in combination with the coordinators of the Masters Age Group.
  • Team building, selection, preparation and presence with planned training camps, practices, events and tournaments. The most important attendance data/events are mentioned below.
  • At the end of each major competition, coaches are also expected to complete a post-tournament report that includes a summary of the event, together with any improvement recommendations.

Selection of athlete – Athlete’s selection camps are expected to be held in Vancouver, Alberta and Ontario for two long weekends:

11 – 13 October 2025; Thanksgiving.

3 – 6 April 2026; Easter.

Course – Training events will be organized throughout the year by the age group coordinators, team managers and coaches in an individual age group and/or team base.

Women:

Selection of athlete – Athlete’s selection camps are expected to be kept:

In Vancouver and Duncan on 11 – 13 October 2025 Thanksgiving Long Weekend.

In Vancouver on 14 – 16 February 2026 Family Day Weekend

Course – Training events will be organized throughout the year by the age group coordinators, team managers and coaches in an individual age group and/or team base. This can participate in the: include

  • Pat Hall Master’s Tournament held on Vancouver Island about the
  • Vancouver International Tournament (VIT) held in Burnaby, BC during the Long -weekend from 16 – 18 May 2026 Victoria Day.

Athletes who are unable to attend selection camps personally are asked to send video images, together with references from coaches. There will be opportunities for athletes outside of selection cities to collect and obtain video images of important selection criteria:

  • In Ontario (Dates/Times TBD)
  • In Calgary, Alberta (Dates/Times TBD).

Experience and qualifications are preferred:

The ideal candidates will have experience with coaching with high performance and have a strong consultative, facilitation and decision-making skills and a desire to work with older age athletes.

The ideal candidate attributes and qualifications must be:

  • Appropriate Coach Education and certification -NCCP -Concurrence Development in training (working on the NCCP certification of the development of competition).
  • NCCP makes ethical decisions (Med) and NCCP Making Headway (concussion).
  • Strong leadership capacities and experience with working with older athletes;
  • Knowledge of long -term development of athlete;
  • Canadian Safe Sport Course (CSSP) certificate that must be uploaded to F-Red- https://cces.myabsorb.com/#/DashboardCode for FHC is FLD303
  • Critical thinking related to planning and evaluation of fitness programs
  • A good knowledge of exercise physiology to create a program suitable for the age;
  • A good understanding of powerful sport.

Terms and Conditions

The successful candidates must have memberships with a good reputation with their local PSO and FHC. They must also provide a criminal check (dated in the past 3 years) as well as full safe sports training (completed in the past 3 years).

If you think that you have the right experience, skills and wish to contribute to the Masters Field-Hockey Community, you must submit your expression of interest (EOI), letter of application and coaching CV via F-RED Coach/Staff.

The deadline for applications is September 19, 2025.
